The Silvis School District is canceling school tomorrow due to the winter storm moving into our area. All after school activities on Wednesday are also canceled. We anticipate school will be held on Thursday and that Parent/Teacher Conferences will be held on Thursday evening.

This morning at 7 AM a power outage occurred at George O Barr. We do not know when power will be restored. School is cancelled so we ask that you keep your child home today. If your child was on a bus, please pick them up at your convenience. We are sorry for the inconvenience, but we will have no heat because there is no electricity. NEJH will be in session as normal today.

I wanted to make you aware that we are still without power. We are planning on finishing our school day as normal. Students are eating lunch and are able to move about the building to attend classes. Our phones are still not in operation. MidAmerican is on site and indicate power will be on in an hour or two.

We are currently experiencing a power outage at NEJH, but anticipate that the power will be restored in the next hour. Bathrooms are operational and students are attending classes, as normal. Sack lunches will be provided to students. Please note that phones are not currently operational, but should be within the next hour. Water is being provided to students, as needed. There is no need to pick up your child at this time.

The Silvis School District Unpack Your Backpack Night will be held on Thursday, August 1st from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. The first day for K-8 students is Monday, August 5th. We look forward to welcoming all of our students. and families back for the 24-25 school year.
Silvis School District Parents and Guardians need to register their student(s) for school this week. Please call the school to make an appointment. No students will be registered on August 5-6 which are the first two days of school.

Registration will be held tomorrow at NEJH, from 11:00 am - 2:00 pm and 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm. Please note that we will not register any students on the first two days of school (August 5-6), so if you have not registered, you need to attend tomorrow.
