The Board of Education consists of seven dedicated members who set district policies. Community members are elected to serve, without pay, for two or four year terms. Meetings of the Board of Education are open to the public and are held at Northeast Junior High School in the Office of the Superintendent. Meetings are generally held the third Wednesday of each month, at 6:00 pm, unless otherwise stated. All Illinois school board members must receive training in professional development leadership (P.A. 97-0008 and the Open Meeting Act (P.A. 97-504), as well as the Performance Evaluation Reform Act.
