About Silvis School District
The Silvis School District #34 is located in the region known as the Quad Cities, bordering the Mississippi River. We are a Pre-K through 8th grade school district with an enrollment of over 650 students.
Facts about our school district:
- Staffing: Superintendent, Business Manager, 2 principals, 1 half-time special services coordinator, 42 teachers, and 43 support personnel.
- Facilities: Pre-K through 5th grade are housed at George O. Barr Elementary (remodeled in the spring of 2012) and grades 6-8 are housed at Northeast Jr. High School (built in 2011)
- Curriculum: Silvis School District #34 provides students with a rigorous curriculum that aligns with the new Illinois Learning Standards. The school district started teaching the Expeditionary Learning ELA curriculum in 2017. The Go Math curriculum will be taught, in grades K-8, starting in the 2018-2019 school year. Other offerings include MTSS (formerly known as RtI), art, computers, library, instrumental and vocal music, physical education, and a variety of academic and athletic extracurricular activities.
