George O. Barr Gets a Therapy Puppy
George O. Barr Elementary School has a new four-legged friend thanks to the efforts of the Silvis School District faculty and staff. The past two years, faculty and staff at George O. Barr Elementary School have raised money so the school would be able to get a therapy dog. With support of faculty, staff, administration and the Silvis School District Board of Education, the staff finally accomplished their goal and brought the puppy home last week. The news of the new puppy was positively received and the children are very excited to have him in the building. We look forward to Jojo instilling a sense of responsibility while helping everyone's emotional well-being.
