Silvis School District Food Service
The Food Service Department participates in the National School Lunch Program and School Breakfast Program, as well as the Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program, all of which provide healthy and delicious food to our students. Each of these programs helps fight hunger and obesity by providing healthy meals to children. During the 2015-2016 school year, the Silvis School District started participating in the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) program. This program allows ALL students in the district to receive breakfast and lunch at no cost, regardless of income. Our district qualified for CEP due to the high number of students in our district who are directly certified for free meals with the state of Illinois. This program benefits both the families of Silvis and the district by decreasing the financial burden on families and increasing the federal funds to help support our meal programs.
